Love Your Bird: Meko the Comforting Cockatiel

Meko (a cockatiel) has been my fid for nearly nine years and is one of five birds. These last few months have been the hardest in my life due to a rare disorder called spasmodic dysphonia that makes talking very difficult. Throughout this whole ordeal Meko has stayed at my side making me feel so much better with kisses, cuddles, and chatter. He does not question why I sound different and just goes along with it. My whole life might be changing in a new direction but Meko has and always will be a constant and welcome presence in my life. That's why my fid is amazing.
